The bad thing is that that $15.4M buyout number runs all the way through 2017. So, not only is he too expensive to unload if the wheels absolutely come off this season (e.g. 0-8), it's still almost prohibitively expensive for another 2 years after that.

I know it's become pretty much accepted that he'll be here next year regardless (and I agree that's likely the case), but Long and the PTB will have some extremely difficult decisions to make if we have another 0-8 type of season. Posting 2 (worst case) to 5 (arguably best case) conference wins in 3 years is unacceptable, and borders on Charlie Weis at Kansas type performance.
