Auburn fired Chizik less than 2 years removed from a BCS title because they www their program sliding off a cliff and felt they deserved better. Whether or not they're getting it with Gus is a different story, but they sacked up and made a change.

chizik's circumstance is different than ours

there are extenuating circumstances that got bert and the football team to where they are now that when taken into consideration, means Bert isn't getting fired. Could another coach have done better? perhaps, but we'll never know.

At this point, I don't care about extenuating circumstances. I can't defend the crappy play; slow, fat team; Bert's big mouth; you name it.

IN 25 years, we have seen our program slide from being a top 10-15 program, to being a laughing stock. The list of regional foes who have now surpassed us after years of being inferior includes: TTech, Baylor, TCU, TAMU, Okie St, Ole Miss, Mizzou, and possibly Miss St.

We left the SWC and lost Texas recruiting. Now, we have record numbers of Texas kids attending U of A, so we might just have a chance to get back into Texas and pick up some talent. But we run a dinosaur offense that is no longer being used in either Texas or Arkansas for that matter. And our coach comes in and acts like an arse.

Bert is a good coach in the wrong conference. Look at Chris Ash at OhioSt. Sometimes the fit is right; sometimes it is wrong.

We made a horrible choice with MA and BB. Basketball and FB are passing us by. I remember the days when we were feared and hated. I loved that.

I believe those days are probably gone forever.
