It may be prudent to go ahead and formally give him the job to see how he responds.

Definitely seems like this is Cokers job. Bateman hasn't really shown anything to stand out. Combined with how much playing time Coker has gotten i'm gonna say its definitely Cokers job for the year for better or for worse...barring a complete meltdown.

Man why are people just forgetting about the Wisconsin game? I mean reading all the threads after that game everyone was like holy shite Coker is actually gonna be good! he might even be the strength of the offense.

I get that MTSU isn't that good...but people have bad games. Greg did AJ did and Blake Sims sure as hell did. If we played a legit team (sorry MTSU) I am positive we would have called plays differently.

I'm a little concerned about the qb play. But Coker showed that he can do it against Wisconsin. We will have to see. He has it in him.

I expect to see a lot more of the run game against Ole Miss. People are ignoring that for Alabama playing a team like MTSU is basically like a glorified scrimmage. Just the talent difference we have....You go out there and see what Coker has. Let him sling the ball around. We know what Henry and Drake can do. Let Coker throw the ball a lot and try and get as comfortable as he can before the Ole Miss game. keep the game plan vanilla. Of course we would have liked to see a better showing from him but oh well.

I feel like I'm in the minority in thinking we will actually beat Ole Miss...People are way overreacting to the MTSU game. I mean we did beat them 10-37 after all...It'll be tough no doubt but I feel like a lot of people are glossing over the fact that this is Chad Kellys first real test. Playing a night game in Bryant Denny against a team hungry for revenge is not a good recipe for success in your first real challenge of the year.

It's gonna be close but I think we pull it out.

I think Barnett is the future...But he would make way too many mental mistakes. Lots of interceptions and bone headed plays you just have to deal with. I think it would be good long term but we would undoubtedly drop a few games and imo be out of title contention. Which this team has a chance at so ultimately I would hate to see that happen as that would pretty much be throwing in the towel for the year (as far as a NC goes).

Bateman had a chance to take the job against MTSU. He didn't get it done. Coker is the man for now, but they won't hesitate to use Bateman if Coker struggles badly against OM.
