Like all of you, I'm excited for the showdown this weekend between two great teams - Ole Miss and Alabama. Like every rational Bama fan, I'm also nervous about the game, because it's clear that Coach Freeze has put together a tremendous team this season that has strengths in areas of weakness for the Crimson Tide. However, if Bama has to lose to one team from the West, I'd prefer it to be Ole Miss.
Unlike many Bama fans, I have always liked Ole Miss and I find myself rooting for them in basically every conference game they play, with one obvious exception. As a matter of fact, I nearly chose Ole Miss as my college destination, but decided to stay closer to home. Since I was a little boy I've admired the Confederate motif (my Dad was a big Civil War buff, and this was passed on to me at an early age), the Chucky Mullins story, the great tailgating tradition, and the connection to one of my favorite authors - William Faulkner. And it goes without saying that any team that hates LSU, Miss State, and Tennessee is alright by me.
I'll be in attendance Saturday, making this the third time I've seen the Rebels play in person. Unfortunately, I've never had the chance to go n my previous two games, I've always found Ole Miss fans to be pleasant and courteous, and I am confident that will be the case again this weekend. I hope for an exciting, injury-free game this weekend and perhaps to see some of you around the Quad in Tuscaloosa. Roll Tide and Hotty Toddy every other weekend of the year.

What said about OM, is how I feel about Bama.
Going to be a great game next week. Can't wait
