First, I think Muschamp will do a good job at Auburn.
But your post confuses me...
OK. i can see your logic with this.
Here is where you lose me. If his problem as a HC was that the trend was going towards Offensive Minded coaches, why would the results have been different at Texas? Wasn't that the trend in Texas, too?
Again...I think you guys made a great hire and are lucky to have him. I just feel like you are contradicting yourself.

Because if he would have been hired soon after he was given the title as CIW, he would have had a better chance to establish his program in the Big 12. At TX he could have continued building his Defense and eventually establishing an Offense (in the style of Saban). At UF he had to build up his Defense (post Meyers) at the expense of an Offense. The problem was that the SEC was trending away from playing great Defense over great Offense (hiring of Offensive minded Coaches). This trend cost Chizik any chance of success once Gus left, and why Mason will be fired after this year.
