A lesser charge? Unbelievable. He shouldn't even be wasting oxygen anymore.

Why should jurors not be eligible to consider a lesser charge? We are in a system in which burden of proof is beyond doubt. If he is guilty of murder 1, it doesn't matter if they "consider a lesser charge" because they still would find him guilty of murder 1
