Part of me wants to say screw em because that same part of me knows that changing the flag will not cause one iota of improvement in race relations here or anywhere else. Too many people that make a living off of keeping the race thing stirred up. Change the flag and they will just come up with something else to capitalize off of some other future tragedy. The other part of me says screw it; I am tired of hearing about it. It's a frigging flag. I do not own one and am not particularly emotionally attached to it.
Agreed.

I remember having to pledge allegiance to the Christian flag at VBS growing up.

I'm sure Freeze and Mullen publicly expressing their support for a flag change in agreement with tons of other Mississippians is all a ploy.

Interesting. Any other issues from the past that we can revisit and put on a referendum?

I remember my first AU - Ole miss game in Auburn and seeing all the Ole Miss fans waving small battle flags. It was one of the coolest things that I had seen at a sporting event, and I wish they still waved them today.

Unfortunately, those days are gone and will not return.
Bottom line is this: political correctness sucks and, if the people want to change the flag (recall that we had a vote in 2001), change the got dang flag. Otherwise, why is this still an issue?

Nope, it is their choice.
Was being rhetorical.

They don't want their recruiting to be hurt. That's the main reason for the sudden interest.
Mullen - 7 yrs at Cow St
Freeze - 3+ yrs at UPiss
Now, the flag is an issue. Lol. Standup guys.

Let's put it to another vote every year, until it is changed?
More than likely, if changed, it won't be by popular vote, but an end run, so to speak...

Dan Mullen is by no stretch of the imagination a true Mississippian.

It's not like Louisiana is such great "progressive" state , but there is something endearing about being able to still smell a freshly-lit cigarette at the local Waffle House in Moss Pointe, MS.

Please people stop letting the government set our nation back 150 years. If u remove the flag than your removing the most important part of U.S. History!!
