What you saw in JJ in that game, was the ability to throw the ball in small windows. Something that we heard all year he was doing in practice. Marshall was given control of the team based on his performance in 2013, but reports out of practice was JJ had command of the passing game head and shoulders above Nick. Nick never struggled enough for Gus to replace him. Most of his issues were because he was pressed to perform due to the performance of AUs Defense.

I think JJ played great in that game. Most of his passes if you watch were either A. Super short, or misdirection designed stuff. Although nothing wrong with that it did not display any kind of distress play or pressure for the deep pass. He will be good this year no doubt. However, the stuff we cannot tell now may surface.
