TexAgs is too close to the school, IMO.
They do have the access, but they are at the heel of the AD/Admin and often will sit on good info at the request of their benefactors.
It's a delicate balancing act, and they do what is good for them, but they aren't as independent as I'd like them to be.

But then you see what happens with unchecked reporting on 247. Hamm has actively scared off recruits and they regularly jump the gun on bad info. Remember when they were reporting this time last year that a "huge" legal issue with Speedy was about to come out?
Both have their flaws, and Liucci is a MASSIVE douche with no real life skills, but Texags has unquestionably great content. 247 breaks most stories quicker but they are wrong a decent amount of the time.

I'm fine with the trade off for all the amazing content and inside access they get
I don't mind them not rocking the boat. They do get critical at times but just don't let it get out if hand. That's kind if nice in a way as well.
