Kind of weird that it uses medical schools as part of the consideration. You end up with some real anomalies. But I understand the reasoning behind it. I'd just put law and med school in a completely separate bracket

Yeah, it is a bit weird considering some of the Universities have Medical Centers as separate entities...but as I said, it isn't perfect. Medical schools in general though (in most respected circles) are almost always involved in some way. It was the reason Nebraska got kicked out of the AAU.

As I said before, not perfect, but loads better than some of the crappy formulas used by Forbes and US News

Using what context? US News rankings? Research dollars? As shown in CWUR's rankings, Georgia handily beats Missouri in the quality of education category...but Missouri does better in other categories like Quality of Faculty and Alumni Employment.
