Biloxi/Gulfport are man made beaches on the Mississippi Sound, not the Gulf of Mexico. If you go out to Ship Island, it is really pretty. Hot, but nice.
I once saw a painting of what the shore of Biloxi looked like in the late 19th century and it was basically swamp like with trees right on the water. There was no beach at all. The barrier islands make the Mississippi Sound an actual thing, much like Mobile Bay and no one expects the shore of Mobile Bay to have nice beaches.
Leave the Mississippi Gulf Coast alone!!!!!!

That's interesting. I've never been to the Mississippi coast.
Galveston also has a sulfur smell, which makes it the worst.
