Why not rotate them between the central cities in the SEC?
Atlanta, New Orleans, and Nashville. It should rotate between these three.
Its embarrassing when you hear some yokel from the Decatur Crimson Sports Blog ask Saban, "So coach, how do we look this year? What are we gonna do about gettin' these them there recruits to stop goin'ta Auburn. I'll shut up and listen, Roll Tide!"
My guess is that the SEC keeps it in Hoover because the economy of Alabama would literally collapse without both the SEC Baseball Tourney and SEC Media Days propping it up. Other than manufacturing vinyl siding and selling bootleg "Kiss the Rings" shirts, there isn't much industry over there.

They vote for SECW, SECE, and SEC Champ separately. The people who picked Alabama first in the west didn't pick Bama to win the Champ.

They don't vote on the SEC champ at all. They just vote on division placement and every school gets points based on their placement on each ballot (7 for 1st, 6 for 2nd etc). Auburn got more 1st place votes which is why they finished first in the West, but they were also ranked lower on more ballots, which is why Alabama scored higher.

This is probably the most inaccurate explanation of how this happened that I have seen so far.

They absolutely vote on the overall SEC champ in addition to voting on divisional placement.

You're telling me they don't even vote on who wins the Champ game?
It is just "inferred" from the voting results for the two divisions...
I'm sure there is some conventional wisdom in there somewhere. But that Is not intuitive

Haha. I was surprised though, I was thinking "say it ain't so Craig"
El poster is more baffling. He agreed that they do vote on champ separately, but then thought my explanation was the most inaccurate .
It's just a bizarro Friday
