Auburn... not because they lack talent or coaching, but because they tend to do so when their ceiling is at its highest.

Though this is probably a flame, it is actually accurate. We tend to do better as a underdog. Sad but true

I for one, do not quite understand the amount of hype we have been getting this off season. We have too many unknowns coming in. We certainly have the guys there to be great but we dont know how some of them will work out.

I absolutely feel like we are a top 10 or so team. Maybe a top 15 coming in but a top 5 team right now? I dont see that yet

Hopefully, it will work out but lots of new pieces coming into this season

Never meant as a flame - just as an actual observation. When AU is ranked lowly, they tend to do awesome. As soon as the media starts paying attention, they flame out. I think the last batch of AU teams that I can recall that did both (preseason and finish highly ranked) was way back during the Dye era of the late 80s.

A mixture of legit hype (Malzahn's offensive coaching), partial legit (Jeremy Johnson at QB), and unproven hype (Muschamp fixing, or at least improving, a VERY broken defense in a single off-season)

Agreed. It's hard to see AU losing more than 4 games this year... but also hard to see them winning more than 10. Either direction beyond that window will seem off.
