That's the point I think you're missing here. I don't think it was anything "dastardly" or even wrong. I do think it was sloppy and impatient, and you're being thrown under the bus as a consequence. Given the Mannings, some facility upgrades, and yall actually having decent tradition, Ole Miss gradually taking over MS and turning into a contender isn't that much of a stretch. Doing it in one year is.

Well we had several ties to a few big recruits. We used those and threw a little money around. I agree we got greedy with Tunsil and Golson but outside of that I wasn't upset with how we went about it. I have a friend who tutored Tunsil when he got to Ole Miss and he says he in no way believes Tunsil had grades changed. Said Tunsil showed up on time at every tutor session, was "yes sir, no sir" and knew a good amount of the material they were covering. So I don't think grades were ever changed. Money being thrown around to get his LOI though? Absolutely

I think that's the point you're missing. What proof is there that anything happened besides rumor or innuendo? Because Richt got mad and turned us in? No he thought he was entitled to Tunsil and threw a hissy fit because his toy got taken away. Now its a stepdad who's saying the university gave him gifts(and people believe him obviously) when that's the easiest thing to prove. Not only that when he wasn't even involved with Tunsil's recruitment and didn't marry his mom until after he signed. If something comes up sure drag us through the mud but let's drop the moral high ground shite.
