i have football fan friends in Washington, Miss., Ohio, DC, and Iowa.. All of them watch the iron bowl every year. Only the guy from Ohio is overly concerned about the other game along somewhat with the guy from Iowa.

Growing up in Alabama, half my friends in school were Auburn fans. We would talk shite about football everyday in recess, lunch, and between classes. Playing basketball or kickball during PE? It was Bama versus Auburn.
If Bama lost, I knew the phone would start ringing within seconds. I dreaded going to school that next Monday and knew I would have to endure the gloating for a full year. And it would get intense. Made tRant look like a tea party.
I didn't grow up in Michigan or Ohio but I imagine it's a completely different experience. Lose the game? No big deal. Just go to school and commiserate with all your buddies.
So even though I know Michigan and Ohio State fans claim to hate one another, I just can't believe it's as intense as Bama-Auburn.
