The fact that we were so behind in the facilities race really enabled us to build nicer things. Imagine if we would have built an arena 15 years ago, the internet as we know it barely existed and we all watched sports on tv's the size of suitcases.

I'm actually happy we still have so much room to improve/expand. Other schools don't have the options we do and will forever be stuck in the 90s in regards to facilities.

Huh??

You do realize that this just means that they will get newer stadiums in like 2030, right?

I doubt many schools will be building completely new stadiums anytime soon, if ever. Being dated doesn't mean teams need new stadiums, just that newer additions will be better equipped and likely look better. Just look at 70s-90s architecture, it's not like it's obsolete, but it isn't famous for it's beauty.

I was just looking at the glass half full when it comes to our opportunity to learn from a lot of great programs and stadiums, and build something to be proud of instead of complaining about our crappy stadium.

We will eventually get a new press box and probably do the same thing to the east. Our stadium has potential to be a top 5 sec stadium in regards to gameday, atmosphere, and aesthetics. Plus the charm of being one of the oldest stadiums doesn't hurt.
