Mississippi adopted their flag just after the civil war. Has it not occurred to you that it may have been adopted to honor the people who died in that war? I seriously doubt educated leaders of the state sat around and decided on the flag because they were bitter a decade after the war ended.

Well there's a reason they adopted it after the war...there's a reason Mississippi was one of the strongest state's against integration, some of the most infamous murders and lynchings of blacks/civil rights workers....."how they comin down stirrin up trouble". Why is that.. Yeah that explains the confederate flag being adopted on the state flag.lol. It's not a coincidence that Mississippi was also one of the most racist states after the war.
