Same could have been said about TCU. A bunch of NOLA kids could win the Big 12 and people would be interested. It's the nature of the bandwagon, and Cajuns aren't immune from it.

The B12 was desperate when they added TCU (and WVU for that matter). The majority of FCS programs have bigger stadiums than Tulane.
