Just got back from my 11 mile overnighter on the Appalachian Trail where I tested some new gear to take on the 40 mile trip next Monday. Here's my set up at Slaughter Gap (GA). We had one bear visit us that night, but he just strolled on by our camp to take a shot at our food bag we had hanging up about 100' away. After about 5 unsuccessful minutes trying to get at our food bag, it gave up and left us alone for the rest of the night.
