The rule is that we can carry whatever the frick gun we want.

Okay, with the normal exceptions. But as long as you have a valid conceal carry permit, you're good.

In the smokies you can't carry anything bigger than a .22 without a CC permit. Not sure about other parks. With that said, I've hiked several parks and every group I run into to has someone packing a big caliber handgun.

If you keep it concealed and aren't waving it around like an asshat for no reason, I can't imagine anyone outside of the NE or left coast giving a damn.
