As I am person that likes to deal with facts and not conspiracy or assumption, I thought to look to the Chick-Fil-A website for some data.
Because Chick-Fil-A is a privately held company, I couldn't find any annual report data detailing exactly how much money they spend in their advertising budget to gauge what their ROI might be. However, I did find some FAQs about the cow marketing campaign and the history. They explain why they chose Holstein cows, for example.

How is any demographic poorly represented in their restaurants?
What in your mind constitutes a failure by Chick-Fil-A?
