I'm excited for this year, but Tarp is preaching on #'s that were scaling back the offense big time and trying to conform to the rest of the conference
I try not to make a habit of bashing other people but Tarp's got an obvious axe to grind, he's never liked the offense, and 3 years in, he still hasn't bothered to learn the names of the positions.
If you want to sit around and discuss 90s pro-style offenses and the like, Tarp's your guy. It's not at all surprising to me that he's casting anything as being more like "the rest of the conference" (as if there is one style anyway).
In truth, there are many styles of offense that can work quite effectively. There are some of the best offensive minds in the country in our division alone. Whether it's Malzahn's, Bielema's, Sumlin's style or whomever, there just isn't one true and right offense. And all offenses constantly evolve. Until Tarp opens his mind to that possibility, I wouldn't take much of what he says seriously.

As long as we're not ditching the no-huddle speed aspect, I'm fine with it. And I doubt Sumlin is getting rid of that.

He's been extra curmudgeonly lately. I assumed he was pretty off base but he was so adamant... He's definitely got an anti Sumlin agenda.

I don't care as long as we aren't weak in the interior like we were last season.
