You make good points, and ftr I agree with the gist of what you're saying. That being said, I do think y'all need to become at least physical enough to develop a consistent running game, quarterback scrambles notwithstanding, in order to compete for conference titles.
"Smashmouth" may not be the correct term, but a ground game is vital.

We agree our ground game needed a boost. Over the offseason we hired a new coach to basically be our running game coordinator because that was a deficiency in the past.
Will it work out? Who knows, we never know until the football games are played.
