Blowing up the Twin Towers is something you do not do in this day and age also. Hitting the Pentagon and targeting the White House? This was total war against us. I suppose that was good for someone but I don't give a damn about them. We would have been justified in any response we chose and no one would have done a thing about it.
At that point you are with us or against us. And after such a response I don't think many would have the balls to be against us.

Actually a lot of shite gets blown up in the world, including buildings. Nukes have been dropped twice in the history of the world.
We would not have been justified at all on dropping a nuke. I don't know who would have said it done anything but it would have been a huge black eye to this nation and our history.

If my objective was to enter a region and use the military to "clear some land" and reap trillions of dollars in the process while ousting a few of its leaders who refuse to "go along with the program," it would be to my benefit to have some catastrophic catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor - because nobody would question the response.
Do I have it right?
