Simply using a technologically superior weapon system would have got him dead but it would not have sent the same message as how it eventually worked out.

As it happened, it was demonstrated that

1) The United States will never stop looking for you
2) National borders are meaningless. If we find you, we will kill you
3) If need be, we will meet you man to man and kill you up close and personal.

I am no fan of Obama at all, but he has my complete respect for approving that mission. It took real courage to make that call.

Only a partial tactical victory. My scenario stops all of this garbage in its tracks. We might have been at war with a few more players, but I am betting not. Some people would have been turned over to us or taken out by their own to avoid it, either that or glow in the dark.

ISIS and all these other outfits cannot exist without backers. It takes money to get in the game and if everyone was scared spitless to ante up, there is no game.
