Who would have thunk it...Saban rated top coach in SEC by Tuscaloosa

If Saban is #1, I think the #2 would be the coach who has played #1 toe-to-toe the best, and most often.

Saban is 6-3 against Miles, including 4 straight. Average margin of victory is 11.33 points.

Saban is 1-1 against Spurrier while at South Carolina, and got drilled in their last meeting, 2010.

Correct. Saban is 6-3 vs Miles, with an 'average' victory margin of 11.33 points.
But, as I mentioned, 7 of the 9 meetings came down to the final seconds. Miles could just as easily be 6-3 vs Saban.
That '11.3' victory margin is helped immensley by the 21-0 game on 1/9/12 and the '13 game that was 17-17 in the 4th quarter.
Yes, I realize those 2 games DID happen and should be averaged, BUT, IT IS ALSO STILL TRUE that 7 of the 9 meetings between the two came down to the final minute, and 6 of those in the final seconds and/or OT.

No other coach comes this close to matching up against Saban.

If MIles was 6-3 or even 5-4 vs Saban, which he very nearly was, he would be ranked #2 or #3 at worst.
