Seriously? The only year we went 13-1 under Richt we lost to a bad Florida team.

I think him blaming it on luck isn't focusing on that one game but more the general college football scene. OSU lost to VT at home by two touchdowns last year, but everything else worked out perfectly for them to get into the playoff.

Perzaclty- Hayull, LSU has a MNC with 2 losses. In the grand SEC run, how many teams went undefeated? UGA was unlucky that particular year (and others).

Now do we create our own bad luck? Of course, we've all seen the head scratcher losses. As pointed out earlier- SEC teams with MNC's lost to teams like UK and Ole Miss. And that tOSU VaTech game you reference was pathetic. Another item of "luck"....could tOSU have won the SEC and positioned themselves in the F4 while breaking in 3 QB's? Think playing in the Big10 was pretty lucky for them?

They were a borderline playoff team going into conference championship weekend, and then they beat Wisconsin 59-0 to send a message that they were too good to be left out. Could you ever see a Richt coached team putting on a show like that in a similar situation? I have 14 seasons of evidence that tells me not a snowball's chance in hell.
