You should try the Ozark Trail.
Gonna take my wife up Half Dome in 2 weeks. Then JMT this fall. I'm darn close to having her convinced to take time off work to do the PCT next year with another couple.

How old are you? I'm 44 and feeling I'm too old for the PCT, frick it's over 2,000 miles and takes over 6 months

I live in Washington state just 20 miles from the PCT. I've climbed many of the mountains here including Rainier, Olympus, Shasta, Hood, Whitney. Just climbed Adams again this past weekend.
My point is that I have some experience with the PCT and it is no joke...especially if you are through-hiking it. If you can do it...I applaud you sir.
