Not everyone should be allowed to vote, only those that have shown they are willing to bring something to and sacrifice themselves for the society should be allowed to steer its direction.
People joke about the whole "white landowning Christian male" requirements of early America but it wasn't too far off from the right idea. I mean...that was the army at the time. I'm not saying suffarage should be based on race, gender or religion but it should definitely be based on commitment. If you don't bring anything to the table you shouldn't be sitting at it.
