I would be a fan of removing the R or D (I,L, etc) the ballot and the candidate submitting a questionnaire that is by their checkbox explaining their platform
Then if the candidate violates anything they submitted they will be ineligible for reelection.
Lofty goal, but I think it'd be interesting.
