Agreed

I haven't owned a gun in almost 20 years. But the world keeps getting crazier and I keep thinking it's about time to pick up a couple 12 gauges.

At the very least - but that would be a good start. Two is one and one is none when prepping .... so make sure they are both the same model. Two Mossberg 500s or two Rem 870s or something like that.

Get you a good pistol too ... a used revolver or something, and plenty of ammo.

Stash away a little extra food and first aid supplies, your meds, etc. A little bit at a time and it will grow before you know it.

I hope we never have to use it - I do. But it's insurance for yourself and your family. There is also a certain liberating quality to it - a confident feeling of being prepared for just about anything.

Too many people are living paycheck to paycheck these days. People have gotten too used to stopping off at the store or hitting the drive-through every day in order to eat. People are used to turning on their faucet and water coming out.

It would take less than three days for society to begin to break down in the event of power loss.
