Tuscaloosa is probably the nicest of the true SEC small towns.
As I stated, the Alabama campus is beautiful.

However, the surrounding city is an abomination and calling it a ghetto would do justice.

Downtown Tuscaloosa has a brewery, about 10 new really nice restaurants, new anchor Embassy Suites Hotel, a bunch of really nice new bars (in addition to the old favorites down the strip, most of them) and an awesome new amphitheater.

The place has really become an incredibly nice place to hang out, from campus all the way down to downtown. It isn't Athens or Oxford, but it's really nice.

I will add Fayetteville is getting supremely underrated here. It's nice and is a great time.
