Well of course you're mad about any UF team from the 90s.

Well, yeah, but that's beside the point

I agree with the Gator fan.
Take the 1978 Alabama Football Team vs. the 1979 Alabama Football team. In my opinion the '78 team was better, despite the lone loss. '79 Alabama may have been undefeated but their first first five opponents were as follows:
@ Georgia Tech
vs. Baylor
@ Vanderbilt
vs. Wichita State
@ Florida
Florida sucked during that time so the first five games were hopelessly laughable. They played only two ranked opponents in the regular season.
Compare that to 1978 Alabama's first five opponents:
vs. #10 Nebraska
@ #11 Missouri
vs. #7 USC
vs. Vanderbilt
@ Washington
'78 Alabama opened up with three Top 15-ranked opponents as well as traveled to play a decent team from a major conference. They ended up losing one of those games but won the rest of their games, as well as the national championship, down the stretch.
1978 Alabama would have more than likely beaten 1979 Alabama in a head-to-head match up.
