Or Kentucky wouldn't have made it as many times.

Arkansas has a total of 31 conference championships you give no meaning or credit to 28 of those.

Doesn't say much about the SWC.

The Hogs have many more NCAA tourneys, Final Fours, Conference Titles, than Florida...and have been to the Final Four in 4 different decades (sustained success) Florida is great under Donovan but didn't do much until the 90's.

Too bad we've won more of what matters most.
We weren't in the same conference until 92 so that doesn't matter.

What doesn't say much about the SWC?

Texas has one more NCAA invite than Arkansas. Houston had some awesome teams back in the day.

But Arkansas didn't just play SWC teams. We played Jordan and UNC, we played UNLV, we played Cals UMass squads. Arkansas was a nationally recognized program that played top competition OOC as well as in conference.

Arkansas is top 12 all time in NCAA invites. Top 12 all time in Final Fours. Top 16 all time in NCAA tourney wins. Top 17 all time in win percentage.

But you have Arkansas as the 7th best program historically in this league.

LOL

I'd have Florida and Arkansas as 2a and 2b.

Florida because of what they've done since 1994 and Arkansas because of what they've accomplished over their programs history.

Hardware.

Valid point. If teams are awarded points for anything but achievements like team trophies, where do you stop and draw the line? Some have suggested points for each round of the NCAA's...but that hurts teams from the era that couldn't qualify when only one team per conference was allowed in. Also, some SEC teams have turned down automatic bids to the NCAA's--should they get a point for at least qualifying? And should points be awarded for teams that go to the NIT too? For every round advanced in the SEC tournament as well? For positions in the AP Poll? For the number of Players-of-the-Year produced? The line has to be drawn somewhere.

Correction....We beat Jordans # 1 ranked NC squad in 1982.... And beat #1 defending champ Lousiville in the tourney with U.S. Reeds half court shot...One of the best shots in history....The Hogs were full FULL of swag before we ever thought about the SEC.

Even if you take out the non-NCAA national titles, it doesn't change the order of the rankings. Just dock 15 points out of UK's totals and 5 points out of LSU's if it makes you feel better, but they still have the same positions in the rankings.

First, conference tournament really doesn't mean shite.

Second, NCAAs count quite a bit more than what you're giving credit for. The rules were the rules back in the day. Be the big dog, make the dance. You're not rewarding teams that were the big dogs.

Mizzou is another. You can't honestly think they're the worst historical program in this league.

So this means A&M is #2 in SEC football all-time?

If Arkansas is #2 because only Kentucky has more conference titles then A&M is #2 in football because only Alabama has won more conference titles.

I'm just trying to figure out how final 4's don't count.

I mean shite.. just because you're in a different conference doesn't mean that making the final 4 becomes worthless.
