Check out downtown grill and brewery on Gay St. Ask about a table on the front patio and to sample some of their home brews. They've got about 7 to pick from. It's on the left hand side of the picture below. Directly on Gay St.
As mentioned above check out Market Square as well. It's about 2 blocks over from the picture above. Bars, food, live music.
Personally, my favorite spot in the city is about 5 minutes outside of downtown. It's called The Bearden Beer Market. It's like a locals only beer garden with a unique California vibe going on. Eclectic crowd and a huge beer selection. Corn hole, beer pong, janga tables and it's all outside. Sublime or something laid back and chill usually on. Dog and bike friendly.
Awesome food trucks right out front. Definitely my number 1 recommendation to anyone that's younger coming to the city.
Also, the entire region is a outdoorsman's paradise.

Where the hell was all of this stuff the last two times I was down here. I've never seen any of this stuff. These pictures of the city are amazing....
Janga tables.... Well we never had that in college.
Do you have a beer you recommend? Fan of Ales but anything will do. Need stop in Lexington and crack open some brew with UK buddies. And talk about 40-0.
