That's a tautological statement. You can't judge whether a team is deserving or not by their performance in the game. You judge them based on their resume going into the game.
That said, I agree with the Bama pick for that year. They had the second best resume. Enough said.

So the National Championship Game is irrelevant? You're stupid. The Best two resumes played each other and Bama won when it mattered most. Definitely deserving.
