It doesn't matter what cop defenders would say. Forensics and ballistics should be enough to convict the cop in this case. The fact that it's on video is just an added bonus

The cop is going to get convicted not because of the video. He's going to get convicted because he started espousing his narrative prematurely. Believe me, had him, his attorney and the PD not committed themselves to a bullshite story, they would have had a work around for the video too.

Forensics and ballistics will be counterbalanced by a former military service member who came back to serve his country as an LEO and just wanted to go home safe to his kids. It's a powerful narrative that a lot of people are inclined to believe on a faith basis.

He could be convicted of murder. But I'd guess he won't be.
