Luckily for us, rebounding/defense is the one area that Kingsley has/can excel at. It's not like Portis was a monster down low on the glass averaging 10 or 12 boards per game, he averaged a nice 8.6 rpg in the SEC, good for 4th in the conference. Solid, but nothing to say "omg how are we going to replace that?".

Another key to that will be Qualls himself, he can rebound so damn well when he wants to get in there and use his athleticism, like he did vs UNC when we knew we were at a disadvantage on the glass, he grabbed 10 boards and was flying all over the place. He has the ability to grab 7-10 boards per game (he averaged 5.3 this year).

Hogs will be fine.

Some in this thread were melting for weeks over the Clemson loss and how the season was over because of it.

Qualls might have lead down the stretch, but Portis was the primary reason we got into the tournament. We can replace his rebounding and defense. But I don't think we can replace his scoring on the block unless Moses improves a lot.
