Most NBA guys are lifer basketball guys who wouldn't want to recruit or deal with the issues involved with teaching young kids and dealing with less team to do it. Johnson isn't in that mold. Doesn't mean it will work, but he isn't the same as if PJ Carlisemo or Kevin McHale came to college.

You Bama fans don't follow college hoops very much, do you?

PJ Carlisimo was a college head coach for 20 years. He completely made Seton Hall relevent. He took them to their first NCAAT in school history. He was a two time Big East coach of the year, and took them to the freaking NCAA Championship game. He was two Rumeal Robinson free throws in OT away from winning it all.

The dude was a certified badass college HC. He was so well respected that he was one of three assistants (with Lenny Wilkins & Coach K) on the 1992 Dream Team - this was while he was still at SH and before he'd ever coached a day in the pros.

I was talking about PJ Carlesimo of 2015, not PJ Carlesimo of 1989. I think everyone understands that PJC is a hall of fame basketball mind.
