No, I'm saying that unless the traditional powerhouses are the ones scoring all the wins, then the division / conference is down.

Unless the other teams in the division are as good as the traditional powerhouses are in their good years...Then it would appear the strength of the division is unchanged.

So it would appear, but I've long since abandoned trying to challenge the status quo thinking of the fans here.

I don't think anyone from USC is arguing with you on that, particularly in regards to the 2013 season. Both Mizzou and USC were damn good that year - and the final polls reflected that. But the traditionalists on this board argue that USC/Mizzou carrying the East = East sucks. Some of the ire that Mizzou fans have about this is directed towards USC fans, but we've been ridiculed much the same.

As far as USC baseball this year, Carolina is absolutely garbage. Yes, you won 2 of 3 - and congratulations on that. Still doesn't change the fact that USC hasn't won a series since.

I've been impressed with Mizzou's ability to come into the conference and compete from (almost) day one. Y'all had a helluva lot more going for you when you joined up than we did, and you've made the most of it. I don't hate y'all for that. I've been impressed.
