At this point, I'm starting to wonder if he's even worth having. This much drama in a hire indicates future drama, imo. There's playing the game for the best contract you can get and then there's this.

What is the drama from Marshall exactly? Don't let the drama on the internet distort the real facts. Dude met with Battle two days ago and may want to visit Alabama once before deciding. That's not much drama. A lot of job searches entail a hell of lot more than that. Personally, I'm not taking a job unless I take a trip to see the goods and if possible I'm absolutely taking my wife on that trip too. I don't think Marshall has done anything unreasonable despite the hysterics in the media and internet.

Cooler heads prevail.

It just feels like a sense of urgency when other programs have caught fire and hired their coaches in a whirlwind.

Just dragging his feet so much and likely doing so for a better deal from you or a raise from WSU. This one has gone on wayyyy too long. He's milking it for all it's worth.

Don't get me wrong though, he'd still be a good hire for y'all. I just don't like it when coaches and/or their agents do these kind of things.

As the old saying goes, he needs to 'shite or get off the pot.' And the more time he spends on this lessens your chances of landing a good hire if he turns you down. The SEC needs to raise the bar in conference hoops -- it benefits us all in recruiting and gives us more tourney spots to have more legitimacy.
