They couldn't get more useless. They enjoy playing 'sane' senator (Corker) and elder statesman (Lamar!) these days but it's just a matter of them presenting well when the cameras are rolling.

We need to shake things up, imo. Elect BOTH democrats and republicans no matter how much voting for the other team gives you the ickies. Right now, both sides know they can do whatever they want and be as dumb as they want because they know their states are either blue or red with nothing in between and we voters will punch the ticket based on party. IF we voters start to change that we will see a return to prior Eras where pols worked together and compromised (withing reason) for the greater good.

These were much more pragmatic pols who had our interests in mind rather than whatever interest group camps out at their office and delivers the $$$ on the side and in the campaign. IT CAN RETURN but only if we do something about it no matter how much it might pain party people.

It's not healthy that too many states have become one party in all but name and it leads to idiots in office.
