Alexis moved there more than a decade ago. "You know, it's the kind of place, you can go walk around, not know anybody, and they'll even invite you to their barbeque. So, I mean, it doesn't get much better than this in my opinion," Alexis says.

"Well, I know it's not true," says Branson Police Chief Kent Crutcher. "One of the problems with using just figures comparing it to our resident population of 10,000 is we are not a community of 10,000. It's over 70,000 when you take into account our guests and our visitors," Crutcher says.
It's not somebody coming onto your property and committing a crime. It's a retail theft. So even though some may say that's bad, me as a person, I still feel safe, because the business is the victim of a crime, not a person."

I've always considered Branson as Arkansas anyway.

Didn't we just have a conversation about how safe Springfield was?

Yes, which is ironic because this evening KY3 reported this insane bullshite story and we all started rolling with laughter.
Admit...it's pretty funny

I bet a lot of Brown Derby's get robbed in the SPFLD.
I used to rob them of beer all the time back in college.

You and I were probably at the same brown derbies and same parties causing the same type of havoc

Any sane person knows Ferguson is the city to stay far, far away from.

Only if you were GDI.
I drove my car in the sand volleyball pits next to Blair-Shannon once. That fricking Escort could go anywhere, anytime.

Movoto Real Estate is using stats for all crime and spinning the narrative by adding the word "dangerous" to their claim.
Does anyone in their right mind believe Springfield/Branson is remotely as dangerous as Ferguson, St. Louis City, or areas of KC?
One might think this is a joke, but Movoto is a legit company who apparently believes this crap or they have an agenda (like preventing more Californians from moving to SW Missouri to retire early, purchase larger homes, and spend the warm seasons at Table Rock Lake. SW MO has seen a huge influx of west coast residents in the past 20 years)

Good.
Californians aren't very welcome here in the Pac NW.

Dude, my college car was a black escort. I had to tie the passenger door shut or it would fly open when I turned into a curve. One time a girl friend flew out of the car as I was pulling into her apartment complex late at night from hours of partying. Fortunately she tumbled about 20 yards thru grass and never hit a tree or obstacle.
Visually that car was an incredible piece of shite, but mechanically it received a crap load of abuse and never stopped running.
I drove her to coastal North Carolina and back (for a summer). Took her to New Orleans twice for New Years Eve. I drove her off a small cliff. Literally took her off roading thru the Mark Twain forest during a drunken camping weekend.
Never stopped running. In that respect it was an incredibly reliable car.

Yep, surprisingly, you don't see them on the road anymore.
Most likely because people like you and I destroyed them.
If I saw a guy driving an Escort, I'd shake his hand. Just because.

It was still running well when I finally traded it for a used 4 door Lumina. That was like moving from horse and buggy to a luxurious Cadillac.
The Lumina ended up being a piece of shite. Constant engine problems. But to be fair, it took me to San Diego and back (approximately two year stint), so I still have a soft spot for her in my heart.

For some reason I can easily picture you driving a lumina. Doesn't surprise me at all.

Haahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
I had forgot about going there as a young kid until I read that. I remember I ate a big ol' bowl of Carmel apples.

It's weird that you and I went to Missouri State at the same time, probably partied at the same places, hung out in Blair Shannon, drove the same shitty car, and ended up in San Diego (even though my time there was temporary versus permanent).
One time I got real fricked up in Blair Shannon and ended up drawing a huge picture of Christ with an alien head in the stair well. I used oil pastels which are vibrant but essentially oil paint in a stick. It doesn't just wipe off.
Freaked people out the next day. Maintenance put out a bulletin looking for the graffiti vandal. Fortunately I evaded capture.

I went from the 'Scort to a Buick LeSabre.
That 3800 motor was a V-6 beast, she got me all the way to Virgina, then I traded her in for a BMW.
The rest is history my friend. Just sold that 96 Beemer last year. Sad moment, I took her for one last drive with SRV in the tape deck, cranked up Lenny and took her down to Encinitas. Crusing back home on HWY 101, right along the coast, I shed a tear.
I hope that 318Ti hatchback has a good home with that Mexican dude.
