Article didn't say. I'm not anti gun but not an NRA absolutist either. Guns on campus just sound like a bad idea, and forcing the UA to do so makes even less sense. These are the kind of ideas that can bite you in the arse big time.

As far as the military, when I was in if you lived in barracks personal weapons had to be checked into an arms room and not allowed in lockers or vehicles. May have changed that was a long time ago.

It didn't have to, it's currently illegal to carry on campus. This goes to JQ's point that if a person is determined to cause a another harm then they will disregard the law on gun free zones.

I'm don't necessarily advocate students carrying on campus, particularly considering it's illegal to carry at sporting events. You would be opening a can of worms based on that fact alone. My argument is to the benefit of conceal carry/gun ownership in general.
