Indoor track is very different. Smaller, quicker guys excel at indoor due to the shorter distances, the shorter straightaways, and sloped, sharp turns. I always looked at it as a mental test for the outdoor season. The time to get your mind right before the real (outdoor) test began. At 6'5" I had to slow down on turns to keep from flying out of my lane and/or injuring my ankles; and every time I got to full speed it was time to turn. Essentually, it equalized the big "quarter horses" and the smaller sprinters. That said, it's fun and I'd recommend going in person sometime. It's a lot more up close and intimate.
