This isn't the only approach to getting a coach. Meyer was the perfect hire. He didn't cost a fortune, but as soon as he won he was made the highest paid coach in football at the time. He gave Spurrier the largest contract of the time as well. Foley pays guys what they are worth, nothing wrong with that method.
