Nobody Gumps so hard that they turn down ad revenue for the sake of Bear.

The quality of the layout, the diversity of the boards, and the general anything goes (besides nudity and slurs) attitude it what drew so many people.

Is there any other football website that is as aesthetically pleasing and tolerant of general frickery?

Most Alabama fan sites aren't welcoming to visitors. Most fans of other teams would only go to an Alabama fan site to troll. It would never occur to them to stay for long. And I can't see any site facilitating their staying by creating a place for them to congregate, like this one. It's a Catch 22.

At one time I posted on a site similar to the SEC Rant run by a Florida fan. At the time, it had a great layout and was very graphically pleasing, with great features. It was a pretty good site. There was never more than about twenty regulars, and it just wasn't an exciting place.

I remember being blown away when I first visited TD...2000 people online? Are you serious Clark?

When I created this thread, I was expecting responses like Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee fans as possible alternatives. I should have known it would turn into what it did.

But to make my position plain, if it wasn't already, I don't see any alternate history where anything like an SEC Rant would have been created on an Alabama fan site. Period.
