That's also a comparison of countries to a friggin continent.

It is the functional equivalent of putting up a map of the US, dropping the outline of Texas somewhere randomly in it, and proclaiming that the US is bigger.

A more meaningful comparison would be continents.

By millions of square miles
Asia - 17.1
Africa - 11.7
North America - 9.4
South America - 6.9
Antarctica - 5.5
Europe - 4
Australia - 3

Africa's only 2/3rds the size of Asia and only 10% larger than North America.

In other words, she ain't nothing special.
