Prattville, Alabama

Prattville was one of the first planned communities in Alabama, modeled after New England communities from which founder Daniel Pratt came. Basing the city on cotton gin manufacturing, Pratt is considered the first industrialist of Alabama. He turned Pratt Cotton Gin into the largest cotton gin manufacturer in the world.



Deep South Paranormal visited Pratt's picturesque cotton mill in 2013 to investigate the story of "The Lady in Black", reportedly the ghost of a mother looking for her child who died from falling down one of the mill's elevator shafts.The paranormal team seemed to catch her on camera, but you'll have to watch the episode for that

In 2008, an F3 tornado ripped through the middle of town near Main Street, but miraculously, nobody was killed.



Prattville is a golf destination as part of the Robert Trent Jones golf trail. It is also home to the state's first Bass Pro Shops. Roman Harper is from Prattville.
