Not sure how I would feel about that. Most elite coaches are "hot" for a time and then the game moves on and they're ok but not great. Look at Roy Williams, Bill Self, Bobby Knight, Denny Crum, among others. Donovan plays a similar style to his mentor, Rick Pitino. That pressing, deny the passing lane, get deflections, shoot the 3, style was hot in the 90s and 2000s but teams have adjusted to it now. Elite coaches look at offensive and defensive efficiency and recruit and coach accordingly. Louisville and, to a lesser extent, Florida, have rosters that are extremely quick and athletic, but neither team can shoot and neither has any concept of a good flow in their offensive game. Compare to Cal or Coach K who have players who can shoot and who also instinctively understand the game and are two steps ahead of everyone else on the court.

We certainly aren't going to encourage Donovan to look elsewhere. I don't agree with your assessment of him. His teams are typically very efficient offensively, I think this is the first team not in the top 20 in some time. I think we have seen him adjust his roster according to the type of talent on the team. This year we can't shoot anywhere near as well as we thought going into the year so we are forced to lean on our athleticism.
